Please note that the InSure test is NOT the Bowel Cancer screening test that has been recalled recently through the Government program
Don't bury your head in the sand and ignore it! If you're over 50, get screened for bowel cancer.
ARE YOU AT RISK?
Bowel cancer kills more Australians every year than breast and prostate cancer. The risk of bowel cancer increases over the age of 40 and significantly over the age of 50. If you're over 50, get screened for bowel cancer every year.
The InSure test is easy to do at home. It requires no faecal handling, no diet or medication restrictions and is highly sensitive for detecting the early signs of bowel cancer when treatment is possible.
THIS MAY BE THE MOST IMPORTANT TEST YOU WILL EVER TAKE
Obtaining an InSure screening test is the first step toward protecting your bowel health. 90% of bowel cancers are preventable if detected early through screening.
If you're over 50 annual screening may save your life. If you have a family history or personal history of bowel cancer, speak to your doctor.
THE INSURE TEST AND ITS UNIQUE BLUE BRUSH METHOD MAKES IT EASIER THAN EVER TO SCREEN FOR BOWEL CANCER
The InSure Test:
* Requires no faecal handling
* No medication or dietary restrictions
* Is significantly more sensitive in detecting the early signs of bowel cancer (blood in the stool) compared to other bowel screening tests. Early detection provides the best chance of successful treatment.
Completing the InSure Test is Easy:
1. Order your InSure home test kit online.
2. After your first bowel movement using one of the long handled blue brushes, gently brush the toilet water around the stool. The test is very sensitive and therefore requires no faecal smearing or samples.
3. Dab the brush onto the test card and close the flap.
4. Repeat steps two and three on your next toilet visit.
5. Mail the test card for laboratory analysis in the reply paid envelope.
6. The pathology service fee is an additional $15.40. To receive your rebate from Medicare you must return the pathology form given to you by your GP with the test card. We will lodge the Medicare rebate with Medicare Australia on your behalf and you will receive a cheque in the mail.
7. You and your nominated GP will receive the test results directly.
REBATES
A health fund or Medicare rebate may be available (not both).
*Health fund: a receipt from the pathology lab and Pharmacy Online / Chemist Direct is required to make a claim.
*Medicare: To receive your rebate from Medicare you must return the pathology form given to you by your GP with the test card. The InSure bowel screening service will lodge the Medicare rebate with Medicare Australia on your behalf and you will receive a cheque in the mail.
