Kelo-cote® is an innovative topical silicone gel that is effective for the management and prevention of hypertrophic and keloid scars,resulting from trauma, burns and surgery.
Kelo-cote® improves and reduces the appearance of scars, both old and new, restoring confidence and self-esteem. It softens, flattens and smoothes scars, and reduces associated discoloration, pain and itchiness.
Kelo-cote® is safe, well tolerated and is suitable for use on all skin types, including children and patients with sensitive skin.
Kelo-cote® rapidly dries to form a gas permeable, flexible and waterproof sheet. The sheet forms a bond with the stratum corneum (the outer layer of dead skin cells) forming a protective barrier against chemical, physical and microbial invasion while assisting with hydration. This creates an environment which allows the scar to mature through normalised collagen synthesis cycles, and improves the physiological and cosmetic appearance of the scar.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Patchyann from Great gel to help scarring I had severe keloid scarring, which was painful after a recent total knee replacement. This gel has helped tremendously but it is very expensive. The scarring has improved and I hope it continues to fade with time and continuous use of the gel. The pain from the scarring has now gone.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Bushpossum from Good product, reasonable price, slow delivery. Kelocote is very expensive, but it works best if you apply a very thin layer so it can last months. It is very effective in protecting delicate skin areas. Delivery was quite slow (about 3 weeks) so I left for Europe without it but these things happen).

Rated 5 out of 5 by may83 from My go-to treatment Previously used Kelo-cote a few years ago on scars that became hyper-tropic / keolid, so having had to treat a surgical scar again this year I've started using this as a preventative treatment to aid healing and got started early, as soon as the wound had healed fully (rather than waiting to treat the flare up). Three months in and the scar is healing really well without too much of the nasty redness, is relatively flat and there is no sign of the itch and pain that can come with hyper-tropic scarring. There are even patches where the scar is barely visible so will keep using this for a few more months and hope that this continues.

Having said that, I have been using Kelo-cote for a month now and will buy more. The product applies easily and dries quickly, I like that I can tell that it is still on hours later and don't have to worry about it rubbing off onto my clothes. I have been using it on skin grafts that are 8 months old and I have definitely seen an improvement over the last month especially with regards to the colour becoming more like my surrounding skin tone.
