Rated 1 out of 5 by from Face turned red and feels like it’s burning I had used Cetaphil’s facial cleaner for years and went ahead and bought 1.25L bottle of this cleanser since I couldn’t find the old packaging and thought it would be the same. In less than 5 min of using it my face started stinging so I quickly washed it off but my face is now red from the side effects. This cleanser definitely is not “gentle” for the skin like the old formula.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bring back the original I have used the original Cetaphil Skin Cleanser for about 20 years and have loved it with absolutely no side effects though my skin is very sensitive. The new formula feels very sticky and occlusive, and whenever I have used it (which I no longer do) my skin becomes red, itchy, with blocked pores. Please bring back the original cleanser!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I need the old formula back! I have used the OLD Cetaphil gentle skin cleanser for years, it was literally the only product that didn’t irritate my skin and I loved it. The NEW formula leaves my skin red, dry and irritated. Please switch back! I am devastated with the change and can not use this new product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Cetaphil gentle cleanser Please bring back the original product as the new formulation is harsh on sensitive skin. I used Cetaphil gentle skin cleanser for over 20 years as it was the only product gentl enough on my skin, but I cannot use this new formulation. Would you consider bringing back originally formula.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from New formulation is terrible ! Please bring back the original formula as this new cleanser strips the skin. I bought a bottle and it’s too harsh for sensitive skin. I wouldn’t even use it on my hands. I used your original cleanser for over 20 years. It was the only product I could use. on my skin. Devastating that it’s gone. Why change such a popular product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from The new formula is terrible! I have been using cetaphil face cleanser for 25 years and have always been very happy with it. This ‘new & improved’ version is terrible! It’s smells funky, leaves a stinky residue on my face washer, and doesn’t leave the same clean, gentle, soft feel of the original formula. Why would you mess with a good thing? Please, please bring back the original formula! I cannot buy your product any more. Absolutely devastated to have to find a new cleanser after all these years. Why do companies do this to their incredibly loyal customers?

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Gentle skin cleanser makes my eyes sting I am disappointed with the new formulation for the Cetaphil gentle cleanser. I have used Cetaphil gentle for many years and always found it to be exactly as described. On my first use of the new formulation my eyes stung and my skin felt hot and uncomfortable. I have repeated use to check on this reaction and it has continued. I will be forced to find a new cleansing product as I do not wish to use this product again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible smell This new version is awful. The smell is highly unpleasant and I'm surprised no one at the company picked this up. The sense of smell is a powerful one and an instant arbiter of purchasing decisions. The smell is so bad that I will switch to another product even though I've used Cetaphil for more than 20 years.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from New formula Had been using the old formula from the age of 15 till the new one came out and so did my whole family and extended family. Then I had to buy the new formula like everyone else just thinking the packaging had changed. I broke out in a rash on my face that consisted of dryness/ redness and little bumps. If you have a reaction to the new formula you aren’t the only one. Wouldn’t recommend the new product was a waste of product and money. But I did recommend the old formula to everyone. Please bring it back.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Love old formula, new formula is hopeless Have been using old formula for more than 10 years and it's amazing to my sensitive skin. Thought it's just change of packaging so I bought the new formula and it's aweful, my skin turned so red and hot and I had to throw away the whole 1L.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from New formula smells like vomit Why did you change the formula? The old one was perfect and had no fragrance and i have used it for many years. The new one smells like it has gone off, very similar to the smell of vomit. It is disgusting and I don't know how it got past your quality control team. I will never buy it again because the smell is intolerable.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from New formula on gentle skin cleanser- no good I would like to use the old formula on this skin cleanser and i want to know if your company would change back to the old formula. I attach the old formula photo to you for identify purpose. By using the new formula cleanser, i lost the feeling of the used good product. Please change back to the old formula or let your customer/user to choose the new or old formula to buy. I do not like the new changed formula at all. It is not the same product to me.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bring back the old formula I am so pleased to hear that I am not the only person that wants the old formula back. I too have used the old product for many years - 30+ years in fact and I am on my last pump pack. I have been desperately trying to find an alternate but nothing compares. I refuse to use the new one as it leaves a terrible residue. My skin has never been worse after using the new formula. PLEASE consider all the requests to return to the original formula - it was awesome.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Immediately irritated red rash I have used the gentle cetaphil cream cleanser for over 10 years. The recent “new and improved” is such a disappointment. One night following my usual routine I pumped the cream into my hands and began to rub onto my face. Immediately I felt a stinging and itchy sensation. Worried I washed off the cleanser but my face continued to sting and itch, and I devloped a red rash all over my face and neck. Cetaphil why did you have to change, you’ve lost this customer.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not sure how I feel I bought this a couples days ago and it was working really well until it started giving me bumps and made my face red I had no allergies to the ingredients.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Cetaphil too simple a cleanser to suit my skin When I first started using Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser a few years ago, I was really happy with it. Since then, I've tried other products and gotten fussier with the results I expect and have learnt a lot more about skincare products and have found that Cetaphil is a very simple cleanser. Its perfect for children and those with problem free skin. My skin needs a little more oompha. I have pimple prone skin so I need something that will give it a deeper cleanse and Cetaphil just doesn't do the job. Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser is suitable for washing the face on a makeup/sunscreen day and suitable for sensitive skin. I'll probably finish off using it as a shower gel but will buy something different next time.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible new formula - Bring back the OLD formula Cetaphil, you have officially ruined the formula which once worked so well. I purchased the product under the impression that the packaging had just been changed and not the formula (this is misleading), however I was wrong. The new formula is potent, smells like plastic and dries out the skin. It left my skin red and dry, I have heard of worse reactions from others. Galderma, I understand that you are trying to conform to beauty product standards in trying to be 'clean', but this is not the way to do it. You are forgetting who your target market is, people with SENSITIVE skin. By adding triggering and irritating ingredients such as niacinamide and sodium benzoate you are dishonouring your customer base. Say goodbye to your loyal customers and good luck using this ridiculous marketing strategy to try and entice new customers, you will need it. Bring back the old formula!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from New formula is terrible, you have lost a customer After using this amazing product daily for the past 22 years I am absolutely devastated that you have ruined this amazing product by changing the formula. The new formula smells like soap and feels terrible on my skin. I WILL NEVER buy this new formula again, bring back the perfect product you had, if not you have lost me as a customer.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Please bring back the 'original' formula Please bring back the the OLD Gentle Skin Cleanser formula! It was 'perfection' and did not need changing. I have been using this cleanser for 30 years at the recommendation of my dermatologist and all of my adult children have grown up with the pump pack in the shower and they miss it too! The new formula has a really unpleasant smell while using and leaves the skin feeling like it has been cleaned with soap. I cannot believe that I will now have to find a new cleanser.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible new formula! Old formula used to work really well! This new one creates red dry irritated spots all around my face (similar to chemical burns).
