Rated 3 out of 5 by from would prefer a matte finish [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really like the packaging of this product; the bright orange really stands out and it is easily found in my vanity. I was a little disappointed that the tube seemed to be only two thirds full so I think a smaller bottle, or a larger volume would be better. The cream is very light and glides over the skin easily however it is a little on the sticky side which I don't love. It does not have a scent. Having oily skin I do prefer something that has a matte finish and this left my skin feeling and looking shiny. This is absolutely perfect for my body however I'm not 100% keen on it for my face. Very impressed with the 50+ and confident to use for water use for the family.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great lightweight sunscreen [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I raised my hand when given the opportunity to trial this sunscreen because I have a newborn (well, probably not-so-newborn now) baby and wanted to find a sunscreen formulated for sensitive skin. To clarify, the sunscreen was not for my baby, but for myself. I was just worried that any sunscreen used on my face and body would rub on her delicate skin. Disclaimer: Being a new first time mum, I do not have time (or anywhere to go) to put on makeup, so I have not trialled this sunscreen under makeup. My first impressions of this sunscreen was that it felt really lightweight on my skin. It has a rather neutral scent as well. I go on walks quite regularly, and there has been times where I’ve forgotten to put sunscreen on my body but have done so on my face (face sunscreen application is part of my morning skincare routine). On the occasions where the sun was out in full force and my body was not protected, my shoulders and arms would be red and slightly burnt (but for some reason, my legs would be fine?). And my face would look like I’ve been indoors all day. This sunscreen definitely works! I do not have sensitive skin but have not noticed any irritation. I also have not noticed any irritation on my baby’s skin (and I would say her skin is probably more on the sensitive side).

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A little less light than it lets on [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] [I received this as a part of the trial team] At first glance this sunscreen ticks all the boxes - light lotion, broad spectrum, water resistant, oil free, fragrance free and non-greasy. I would say that this is not an ultra-light lotion and applies quite greasy to the skin, like a standard sunscreen. It does however feel quite light once it is applied to the skin and makeup can be easily applied over the top. I don't think I would leave the sunscreen on the skin just as is, because of the sheen it provides. I also noticed an alcohol scent on application, however this dissipates quite quickly. The packaging is standard for Cetaphil and the cap does not easily open - great for the beach bag. The positives however, it is water and sweat resistant and has been one of very few sunscreens that has not broken out my skin after multiple uses/consecutive days. Which is a huge plus for me! A little also spreads quite far and it does sink quite easily into the skin without any white cast present (please note I am a light medium skin tone). Overall I think there are better face sunscreens out there with a more matte finish, however I like this one for days I know I will be exposed to intense sun and water as I know this will provide adequate protection.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light and hydrating [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was fortunate to be invited to trial this product and have not used Cetaphil in recent years. This product is designed for use on both face and body, and comes in a generous size. I was interested to test its fast-absorption and the fact that it is fine to use under makeup (so often they are not). My confused skin likes to range from oily, normal to dry and I often end up with greasy sunscreens that make me feel even more disgusting if I also apply makeup. This product has a stand-out orange and white package with a secure clip-lock lid (reassuring when storing in your fave handbag!). Application is nothing special – squeeze the tube and apply in small amounts at first, ensuring good coverage. The texture is pleasantly light and with no overpowering fragrance, and it did seem to absorb quickly. If I applied too much in one area there was obvious greasiness buildup. There was a tad increase of noticeable shine but I’ve never had a sunscreen that doesn’t do this, and it could be corrected with makeup if needed. I didn’t notice anything remarkable with water resistance and it largely came off during exercise (sweat sessions), but I don’t mind reapplying. Thanks Cetaphil, I've now got another quality option for a quality SPF50 sunscreen!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Thick facial sunscreen [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was very excited to try this sunscreen as summer is here. I am always excited to try new sunscreens. This one is called the 'Ultra-light' lotion and is targeted towards oily skin for face and body. I found that this name was not appropriate. It has a thick texture and when using the recommended amount, it took a while for me to rub it all into my skin. I was also very shiny and greasy. The advantage of this is that I know that my skin is being protected. I have tried other brands of sunscreen that works a lot better than this one as they are truly light and not greasy. It took some time for this sunscreen to sink in before I felt comfortable applying makeup on top. Therefore, it would not be a daily sunscreen for me when I need to do my skincare quickly and wear makeup on top. However I can see that this sunscreen could be good for a day at the beach as I know I am being protected and I don't wear makeup on top. The sunscreen comes in a convenient squeeze tube in a matte finish.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Cetaphil spf50 Face & Body sunscreen [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recieved a tube of this spf50 face & body sunscreen to trial as part of the trial team. For referrence my skin type is normal, bordering on dry/sensitive at present due to pregnancy hormones. I had just run out of sunscreen so the timing of this trial was perfect, and I had never tried anything from cetaphil before. It comes in a white/orange squeeze tube and is quite a light creamy lotiony consistency with a strong alcohol scent! It blows me away each time I use it, it smells quite strongly like hand sanitizer to be honest! The first time I used it the scent knocked my socks off and I thought surely it was going to irritate my skin (and eyes). Thankfully the scent does not linger long, it dissipates within 5 minutes or so. Although my skin has been a bit sensitive lately due to hormonal inbalance (and using glycolic acid at nighttime here and there) it did not irritate my skin, cause any stinging sensation; which I was expecting given the strong alcohol scent. Thankfully my skin seemed to tolerate it quite well, it went over the top of my moisturiser nicely without any pilling or any of that dreaded grey cast on the skin (or the freaky ghost face). I have been using every day since recieving and have not been sunburnt or had any reactions to using (apart from finding the scent a bit overwhelming). I did notice it tends to make my skin look quite shiny in photos, although it does not feel greasy or oily at all, it seems to give a sheen to the face when photos are taken! I do not wear makeup so cannot state how well this performs underneath makeup. Overall an okay sunscreen, very strongly scented but it performs okay (although it does not look good in photos). Will I be purchasing? No. I have a tonne of other faves that perform beautifully and do not smell so strongly like alcohol nor provide a very shiny sheen in photos.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Light texture, but sits on skin heavily [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Thank you to BH for allowing me to participate in this product trial - when I saw it was an SPF product specifically designed for oily skin AND it was water resistant, I was very excited! The tube is a generous 100ml, and I always appreciate a bottle that sits on it's lid - so much easier to get every last drop of product. The lid shuts tightly which is great for beach bags etc. The fluid is your typical white sunscreen, it has a light, runny texture and flows easily. It was easy enough to apply to the face but does take a bit of work to spread around. I found it left quite a strong ghosting, and then the effort to spread around and rub out the ghosting ended up making my face quite pink - I would recommend applying this 10-15mins before makeup if possible. Unfortunately I found this left my skin looking quite shiny and feeling greasy - not what I was hoping for. My powder foundation did apply quite well over the top, and I didn't become more shiny than usual throughout the day, so that was good. I trialed this product with makeup for a day in the office, and without makeup for a hot sunny day at the zoo. I found it a bit heavy for a day indoors, but it was great for the outdoors and my face was well protected from the sun.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lightweight for SPF50+ and fragrance free [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a great product to use on beach days and when I know I am going to be sweaty or doing something active. It's pretty lightweight for an SPF50+ sunscreen, offers 4 hours water resistance, is fragrance free and doesn't leave my skin feeling too greasy. I have oily skin, and found that although this wasn't matte and left me looking a tad shiny, it could be fixed by applying some powder. It absorbed quite easily into my skin, and did not ball up on top of moisturiser. As someone who usually sticks with zinc oxide based sunscreens as it has a lower chance of causing stinging or irritation, this sunscreen was fantastic for my sweaty trail runs, where I am constantly wiping and rubbing my face. I also reapplied it for an hour session at an aqua park, where I couldn't wear a hat. I didn't get sunburnt which is a major plus, and was immersing my head underwater a lot, so I trust its water resistance claim. The only complaint I have is the packaging makes it slightly messy, as product can easily get clogged up on the lid. But it's a 100ml tube which will apply really nicely on the face and body.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great protection, but quite greasy/thick [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm super picky when it comes to sunscreens and this one seemed like it would tick all the boxes - weightless, non-sticky, high protection, new non-carcinogenic sunscreen ingredients, affordable. This one ALMOST ticked all the boxes... except that it is not light at all! I notice a slight white cast and sheen immediately after applying which becomes less noticeable after 20-30 minutes however it still feels like a heavy layer of something on my skin throughout the day. If I touch my face, I notice the grease transfers on my fingers - big no no! My hair also sticks to my face when wearing this sunscreen - another big no no! I have normal to dry skin, however this product is marketed for oily skin. That being said, I like the combination of both physical and chemical blockers in this sunscreen as well as the use of newer ingredients which provide high sun protection. There is a very faint smell of ethanol in this product but it disappears quickly and is not irritating. This sunscreen is also much less greasier than the kids version in the pump bottle. The packaging is slim, sturdy, and super easy to throw into a handbag or to bring travelling. I'll reserve this sunscreen for beach and outdoor use, but would really prefer something lighter and more weightless for everyday use.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointed in this well established brand [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Cetaphil is a well trusted brand in my home and with previous products I have used, however this Sun Ultra Light Lotion spf50plus failed to deliver. I found the product to be opposite of light in texture and application. I used the same amount of product per application as any regular sunscreen and found I had to work it into the skin a lot to get it to absorb. The texture is that of regular sunscreen and quite oily considering it’s oil free and suppose to be a ultra light lotion. This product was not suitable for my face long term at all. I was not able to wear under make up and it was quite obvious that I had sunscreen on my face. I was disappointed that the uvb and uva protection didn’t live up to my expectations. I was exposed to sun for 1.5 hrs and came away whilst not red from the sun but clearly outlined with sun damage from my clothing wear I was not covered but wearing the lotion. The smell is fine, it’s a light sun cream smell and is not noticeable after a while wearing. I think the product would stain clothes if they were light enough. The colouring has a light yellow lemon tinge to it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great sun protection for the body [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Cetaphil Sun Ultra-light lotion has very high sun protection of SPF50+ and is formulated for oily skin for application on both the body and face. The sunscreen comes in a big tube with a flip top cap and it’s a good 100mL size tube that will last a good while. The sunscreen has no distinct scent as the formula is fragrance and oil free, and my sensitive skin did not react to the formula as no skin redness was visible. The opaque white lotion is lightweight and not too runny, so I was able to easily apply a small amount of sunscreen onto my face. My skin type is oily and unfortunately, this sunscreen left my face looking very shiny and greasy without the white cast. I very much prefer applying this sunscreen on my body as this product doesn’t sit well before makeup application, due to the sunscreen not absorbing very well and leaving a greasy look. Overall, I recommend using this sunscreen on the body due to the ease of application, the very high sun protection, broad spectrum and sun filters. If you have very oily skin, I would not recommend using this sunscreen on the face.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from transferred onto everything and ruined my car [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The sunscreen its self is everything I’ve been looking for in a sunscreen for years! its light, doesn’t feel sticky when on and doesn’t leave my skin stinking like suncream. BUT I put in on and got straight in the car (a few minutes after applying) to go out and it transferred to my leather seats and left a horrible white oily mark that was nearly impossible to get out, I got to my destination, got out of the car and the back of my calf touched my door and went around to the boot and got some things out from far in so my knees touched the paint….which I didn’t notice these things until I got back to the car a few hours later to see my body parts printed on it- now my black car has a sticky oily white spot that cant be removed without solvent and its costing hundreds to get buffed out and the paint protection reapplied. I couldn’t throw this out fast enough after this. Very disappointed because initially I was overjoyed to find a sunscreen that is so light you can barely feel or smell it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really impressed! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was lucky enough to be a part of the trial team and got to test out the Cetaphil ultra-light lotion with SPF 50+. I know that sunscreen is a must but almost every single one that I have tried has been so horrible to use, I would dread putting it on. I have oily and acne prone skin and without fail I would breakout every time I had to put sunscreen on. Not only that but my face would feel so sticky, greasy and oily that I was just waiting for the moment to just wash it off. I'll admit that I just assumed that this sunscreen would be like the rest of them but I was actually really surprised. The lotion is not thick or creamy which is great because I want to be able to spread it easily on my face, neck and décolletage. This lotion was such a breeze to apply and I found that there was no greasy or heavy feeling that I'm so accustomed to. It feels matte on the skin and even though it has the tiniest amount of stickiness it was incredibly tolerable. My skin didn't breakout and I liked that it contained both UVA and UVB protection. It definitely makes using sunscreen a lot easier for me as I can feel comfortable having it on and not feel like I need to wash it off. You can use it on the body as well and it's perfect for everyday use!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Super-thick instead of ultra-light. I was so disappointed in this sunscreen. I have an oily skin and I am always in the hunt for beauty products that balance the oiliness and don't add to it. Therefore I was mesmerized by the promise of an ultra-light lotion and unfortunately was greeted with a super-thick cream. It also didn't absorb easily, I really had to rub it in (which is not good when you have a sensitive skin like I do). The only good thing was that I didn't get sunburned whilst applying this sun protection.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from greasy on the face I have oily skin and I've been hunting for a suitable sunscreen for the face. This product is too greasy and heavy, I needed to use setting powder on top. It can work well under make-up etc but definitely not suitable to be used on its own. The coverage is good and I think it does its job well as a sunscreen. Although the alcohol content is quite high and I could smell it during application.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Was hoping for a less shiny face I had really high hopes for this sunscreen. I have oily skin and was trying to find a product that isn't shiny and greasy to use on my face. It's quite good but just not as good as I was expecting! I find that even if I put on the smallest amount my face still gets really shiny and greasy looking... Unfortunately I think I might have to keep looking. I'll probably keep using this on my body in summer but find something better for my face. It's ooookay under a matte makeup but still doesn't feel that great, it's just not as lightweight as I was hoping.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to apply and it doesnt look/smell like I am wearing suncream My usual beef with wearing sunscreen on a daily basis is that (1) it leaves you with the white residua, (2) you smell like youve just gone to the pool, even if your just at work and (3) it leaves my skin feeling clogged and greasy....all in the name of being sunsafe! Well I find this sunscreen ticks all my boxes. The lotion comes in a tube, squeeze out a little and rub into your skin. Voila...I couldn't smell anything. My skin didnt look white or greasy. After a couple of hours in the sun my skin still felt clean and was not burnt. I know it wirks because I missed a patch on my arm and have a big red stripe while the rest of me is normal coloured.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Very oily and greasy I tried this product after a bad experience with the Cetaphil Suntivity Lipsomal Lotion SPF 50+ (it was terribly thick and greasy). I'm sorry to report that this stuff isn't much better. It certainly *seems* more lightweight - it came out as a heavy lotion consistency, and was much easier to get out of the squeeze tube than the Lipsomal's hard round plastic bottle. However, when applied, it shared a lot of the same problems as the Liposomal lotion. Like the Liposomal lotion, it leaves my arms shiny and greasy all day. They are not quite as tacky as with the Liposomal, but feel more....wet, like I've drenched my arms in olive oil. If I apply the correct amount (1 tsp / limb) my clothes come off feeling like they've been soaked in oil. White marks also collect in the crook of my elbow throughout the day This does have the benefit of being scent-free and hypoallergenic, and did not cause any reactions (on my body, cos there is no way this is going near my face). It is also water resistant, so might be suitable for swimming. But I cannot recommend it for everyday wear, and like the Liposomal, feel that the quality is not worth the high price tag, and that you could get a cheaper sunscreen with a better feel on quite easily.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My favourite sunscreen (works for medium brown skin/ dry skin too) This is an excellent sunscreen. I use the SPF50+ version. It blends in perfectly with my medium brown skin colour (about NC42 for reference) and works extremely well with my makeup. Although it says its for oily skin, I find that it works very well with my dry skin type and leaves a nice finish making my skin baby soft! It is a great price as well- I got it from Priceline for about $20 and it comes with a good amount of product. Highly recommended and is my favourite sunscreen! ( I copied and pasted my review from makeupalley)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works well with under my make up, light weight texture I was given a 10 ml sample tube of this during a recent Priceline promotion and I was really keen to give this a go. I am 47 with normal to dry skin and I was originally concerned that this would be not be hydrating enough as it's designed more for oily combination skin, but I was proven wrong. I noticed that some of the reviewers with oily skin found this too greasy or left their skin very shiny looking, but not me! This light weight fragrance -free lotion sat well on top of my day cream and absorbed easily. I found that I could apply primer immediately after and then apply my foundation without it balling up. It did leave my skin with a slight sheen but not oily or greasy looking, I think this is because my skin is on the dry side. I'm used to using the light weight Asian sunscreens and this one by Cetaphil is the closest that I have found. It's a definite repurchase for me.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Expected better for the price... I love Cetaphil skincare products, along with Ego and Aveeno and their products don't irritate my skin. I thought I'd try this sunscreen out since I love their skincare. The product itself comes in a bottle with a twisty-snap on lid, and a flat hole opening that you're meant to squeeze the product out. The lid was really weird and hard to open and close with sunscreen in your hands, and the bottle isn't very squeezy, making it hard to dispense and close up. It would be easier if the lid was a flip top and the bottle had more give when dispensing product. The product goes on pretty smoothly, makes me a tad shiny but it goes away in 15 minutes (I have dry skin). It didn't emphasise any of my dry patches (in the summer, likely would in winter though) but when i would touch my neck or face to wipe off any sweat, my sunscreen would pill off in many tiny little balls, which were visible and really annoying. The more I tried to get them off, the more of them rolled up and appeared. It became a big nuisance for me, especially for the price I paid. If you don't have these problems, it's a great sunscreen if not for that! I'd say give it a try, and hope you don't get the pilling like I did! Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loving The Oil-Free Non-Ghosting Formula I love that when I put this on my shoulders, neck, chest and back that I can rest assured my hair won't end up oily and greasy. Being oil-free is a biggy for me as I have naturally oily hair anyhow and don't need any extra grease! I will definitely be buying this again! I recently took it with me on a snorkelling trip in The Great Barrier Reef and found it fully protected me the whole time I was wearing it - I never got burnt. I really love the way I can use this both on my face and body too. It comes out of the tube in a light cream and spreads really easily which is great because I need to work quickly with sunscreens on my 11 year old who still has a tendency to wiggle away from me while I try to get sunscreen on her! This product makes fast work of the chore and it doesn't leave any white hue on the skin even though at first it comes out in a whitish colour - it quickly sinks right into the skin. I find it true that it's Fragrance Free - I can smell nothing and I have quite a sensitive nose. This brilliant product is just the type of product I was looking for to take away with me on my holiday - full SPF50 broad spectrum protection and waterproof for the four hours.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great multitasking product I was lucky enough to receive tiny samples of these. I love the fact that it has spf of 50+! I used them when I went travelling to Asia and boy was it useful! The bottle is upside down so the lid is where you can make it sit. It is a white tube and the lid is orange. The moisturiser itself if thick which I think is due to the sunscreen ingredient but it easily absorbs into my skin. It is also a great base if I were to use foundation on top and doesn't make me look too cakey. I love that you can use this all over your body but I mainly used it for my face and neck. It was just a great product to have in my bag when I was travelling!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Too oily for me This says oil free, but it must have silicones in it instead (the ones that feel oily), it made me really shiny. PROS: - My often sensitive skin didn't react to this - Spreads well CONS -Made me really shiny, though it didn't feel super oily, strange... - This needs to be used on *bare* skin, the chemical absorbers only work if they can sink into your skin, that's why you have to wait 20 minutes after applying a chemical sunscreen to go outside to have proper protection. This is a big negative for me as I like to use a Vitamin C + E serum during the day under my sunscreen because it improves performance, though presumably only with physical sunscreen
