Moisturised, calm skin.I love the calming scent of this massage oil (the lavender and chamomile definitely eases babies into bedtime). The oil has a nice consistency which is not too thick, but a little bit definitely still goes a long way. It instantly moisturises the skin and absorbs quickly to leave behind soft, hydrated and supple skin. The kind-to-skin formula is super soothing and can be used on adults too. I've used it on my legs once to provide a nice subtle sheen/glow! Since I've received this, I've put it in every bath time for the babies as I find it's so wonderful at nourishing their skin and making it happy. We have a few other GAIA products in the bathroom and this is another brilliant addition. Definitely a hit!

Discovery Bag - Gaia Baby Massage OilThank you bh for inviting me to trial this beautiful baby oil.
I don't have any children myself as yet (we are trying!) but I did have my young nephew stay with me during the trial period so I was able to test this out on him.
I have heard great things about Gaia products and my sister-in-law loves the brand and uses it on her children.
The baby oil in enriched with beautiful skin nourishing ingredients including sweet almond oil, organic lavender and chamomile - all favourites of mine! The scent is just beautiful and I could tell my nephew was quite relaxed. After bathing him, I would squeeze about a 10 cent piece amount into my palm and warm the oil between my hand and massage his body all over. It is such a lovely light oil and absorbed into his skin so easily.
I love the packaging as I can control how much product I need without it all spilling out and it has a lip around the edge to catch any excess which might come out.
I also used the oil on myself as a body oil instead of the usual moisturiser and I absolutely loved it. I will continue to use this and when I become pregnant and on my future babies :)

GAIA Baby Massage Oil | Discovery Bag ReviewThank you BH for the opportunity to try the GAIA Baby Massage Oil in the March 2019 discovery bag!
I have used a few GAIA products on my 2-year old daughter (baby moisturiser, baby shampoo, baby bath and sleep time bath), but I have never tried an oil on her before so I was excited about this opportunity.
About Gaia products: GAIA products are marketed as natural products, initially targeted at babies but now the range has expanded to adult skincare products. The products use a lot of essential oils (typically lavender oil) and other plant-based ingredients. While it is marketed as "gentle" products, my family GP has cautioned against using any type of essential oils on infants with skin issues as they can be irritants or allergens. However, my daughter does not have any skin issue so we can use anything from QV to Sukin to GAIA.
This massage oil comes in a 125mL bottle with a flip cap. Its consistency is just right - not to runny and not too thick, making it quite easy to apply. The base is sweet almond oil (which naturally does not have much of a scent) but it is fragranced with lavender and chamomile oil. I found the scent quite lovely but it is also subtle. Once it is applied the scent dissipates quickly. I am not sure about the "calming" claim though - my daughter certainly does not stay still when I try to apply this to her after a bath or shower. But she normally doesn't anyway.
The oil keeps her skin soft and supple. It does not cause any break out.
The product itself is very good, however I find that it is difficult to pour the oil out without some leak from the opening to the side of the bottle. It makes the whole bottle quite greasy during application. Because of this, I prefer using a moisturiser instead.
UPDATE: After submitting my discovery bag review, I kept using the baby oil on my daughter. The first 2-3 weeks seemed fine, but once we went into the 4th week of using it, my daughter started scratching her legs, and eventually arms. She scratched harder and harder, and her scratching made her bleed in multiple places. At first, I thought it was the cold weather and I kept applying more GAIA oil on her. However, it did not improve her skin hydration at all, and it only got worse. Finally we finished the GAIA baby oil, and I resumed using Sukin Baby Lotion on her (which was what we had been using prior to testing the GAIA Baby Oil given in the discovery bag). Her skin was much more hydrated in just a few days. She stopped scratching, and wounds began to heal. It turns out that the GAIA Baby Oil was the cause of the dryness. It was not effective in moisturing or hydrating her skin at all. I feel so bad doing this to her. In hindsight I should have stopped using it when she started scratching her skin. My daughter's skin is very resilient and she could use almost anything (even Johnson Baby does not cause any problem, nor my own highly perfumed body lotion). The GAIA Baby Oil is so far the only skin product causes an issue. Therefore, I have changed the rating to ONE star and will not recommend this to anyone.

Gaia Baby Massage Oil - March Discovery BagGaia products speak for themselves and the Baby Massage Oil was no exception. It arrived in a 125 ml clear plastic bottle with a flip top lid priced at an affordable $10.99 and obtainable from most pharmacies and supermarkets.
I was very keen to try it as a massage on my grandaughter and found that just a few drops were all that was needed to rub onto the palms of my hands and then onto baby’s skin. It also can be used in baby’s bath or as a product to combat cradle cap so all in all a very versatile product.
The oil itself is mineral oil free and contains pure, natural and organic lavender and chamomile in a base of sweet almond oil so very natural. The fragrance is beautiful, somewhat olde worlde and glides nicely over baby’s skin leaving a lovely, calming scent. It also absorbs well and doesn’t leave a greasy feel. I am sure my granddaughter enjoyed every minute of her massage.

Fantastic massage oilI'm a big fan of gentle massage on babies, and have tried various gaia products which i adore, so i'm rapt to try this out. Free of parabens and any nasties enough is great news. First i love the flip top lid, easy to close when your hands are slick with oil. A very subtle lavender scent which i love, plus calming on babies. The oil is a great constency, not thick and sticky like some brands. Easily glided on my little boy's legs, only a small amount was needed. He loved it, and i managed to massage back legs and arms with ease.
