No real impact for combination skin
This Sukin cleanser comes in a neat looking bottle with a pump. I'm a big fan of pumps on products as overall it usually makes accessing products much easier, although unfortunately with this product this was not the case as the cleanser was just too thick and it felt like I spent more time trying to pump the product out than I did actually using it!
The smell of the cleanser is pleasant, and you can really smell the active ingredients in there. As mentioned, the cleanser is very thick and grey, it foams well on application and felt pleasant on my skin.
Unfortunately for me it didn't really seem to make any difference to the appearance of my combination/ oily skin, and there was definitely no difference to the texture or amount of acne I experienced.

Great effective cleanser
I have combination skin and tend to get breakouts on my chin/jaw area, and I am very pleased that I discovered this Sukin Gel Cleanser! I have tried so many department store and beauty salon brands, that irritated and dried out my skin even more. This cleanser is mild and creates a great, yet gentle lather to give me a deep clean without any skin tightness or discomfort. My favourite thing about this cleanser is that it comes with a pump dispenser, which makes it easy to dispense a small amount, as a little goes a long way. It has a fresh herbal scent, which isn't too overpowering, so there is no irritation or redness. This cleanser has really helped to minimise my breakouts since I started using it 6 months ago. I use it twice a day, and my skin is never dry or red, like some other gel/foam cleansers I've tried for oily, blemish-prone skin.
Overall I am very pleased with this cleanser, and have noticed less breakouts on my chin since using this product, so I will definitely continue to use it!

Fantastic cleanser
I ADORE this cleanser!. It smells divine and is gentle on the skin. I have very sensitive skin - can start itching if i even look at it wrong. So, i'm always wary of trying new products on it. This one however felt soothing and definitely helped with the oil control somewhat. I wouldn't say that it made any long term difference, by the end of the day i am probably as oily as i normally would be but for the first few hours my skin feels soft and fresh. i only use it in the morning as i'm not sure it would be sufficient to remove makeup - but it's perfect as a wake up cleanser.

Was great for purifying my skin on holidays
I recently went away to Singapore and the weather over there is so humid that I was basically sweating all the time. This cleanser was a real life saver on holidays. I was so happy I got it on the plane seeing as there are restrictions on the size of gels and liquids to 100 mL.
The cleanser helped keep my skin clear and purified. I really needed this while being away in a humid country. The cleanser did not dry my skin out or cause any discomfort. I double cleansed with the cleanser to ensure my skin was clean. The cleanser was a nice consistency and a grey colour due to the charcoal. I found the cleanser easy to wash off. Overall it was a great cleanser for my trip however now that I am back in Perth, I have switched back to a cream cleanser. The cleanser is great for hotter months however I would not recommend in winter due to the cleanser being more drying. I like to use a cream cleanser in winter with the exception of when I go on holidays. Overall I was very happy with how this cleanser kept my skin clear and clean so I had one less thing to worry about when relaxing on holidays.

**Initial thoughts on viewing the product:**
This cleanser comes in a brown plastic bottle with a 125ml capacity, grey-based label (to go with the active charcoal ingredients) and white writing. The bottle is topped with a black pump which is locked into place via a twist mechanism. I really like how, with each new expansion of the Sukin range, the brand is keeping with a solid theme. This bottle is also stamped with something new: a carbon neutral product logo (which I think is pretty awesome). Another great fact is that the bottle comes with a clearly stamped expiration date, i.e. you don’t have to rely on the nebulous ‘six months after opening’. I think this is an absolutely fantastic feature as you have a clear shelf life of your product. This is all the more important for those products loaded with natural ingredients (and low on preservatives). High five, Sukin. Oh, and the RRP is around $13. Ridiculously cheap, especially when you can buy it on sale. Nice one.
**Thoughts on application:**
The pump mechanism takes a little bit of work to open up (which means it is nice and secure when you buy it). The pump is also very tall, which immediately translates to it will pump out a lot of product. You definitely do not need one whole pump of product per wash! Oh my gosh! The tiniest dab will without a doubt cleanse your entire face. This gel cleanser will work with bare hands, with a cleansing cloth, brush, device, you name it.
This cleanser does a great job as a standard cleanser (i.e. where you haven’t been wearing makeup) or as the second cleanse after makeup removal. This cleanser will absolutely ensure every last trace of dirt is removed from your face. Given that my skin tends to the drier side of life, I was very pleasantly surprised this cleanser didn’t turn my skin into the Sahara desert.
What I will say is this. This cleanser will last you for ages. The bottle states it’s good for six months after opening and I completely agree with that statement. I have had this one going for close to it. It has taken me months and months to finish this one bottle and I am telling you, I was doing my best. I have even been cleaning my makeup brushes with this because I wanted to finish it up (waste not, want not).
You may be asking why, which is the whole point of a review process. Ultimately, this cleanser is good but not for me. I think this cleanser is ideally placed for persons with infinitely oilier skin than mine (I’m combination to dry, however I suffer the occasional breakout and seasonal disaster). My biggest issue with this cleanser was that it took forever for me to rinse the cleanser off. I found I had to relegate use of this cleanser solely to the shower (standing over the sink constantly splashing was getting really old, so this cleanser was only used at night time unless I was working out) to ensure I could get a really good rinse. I found if there was any residue left on my face, in particular around the hairline, I would suffer little breakouts again! So, if you’re like me and don’t like extra zits or excessive amounts of water all over the floor, be practical with your product usage.

Great Gentle Cleanser
This cleanser is great for my oily skin. It is gentle but effective, and does a great job at cleaning any excess oil my skin produces.
It doesn't irritate my skin which is rare for cleansers. I don't break out when using this product, and it actually makes my skin feel brand new.
I've noticed it starting to produce less oil overall, and that my makeup goes on smoother after cleansing with this.

Good cleanser
I have oily skin. I like this face wash as it is very gentle. I wouldn't cause any stinging yet it does a good cleaning. I don't have to use my cleanser to remove make up (only light bb cream). It controls oil but it won't make you skin feel dry. I like the smell of it. I doesn't not contain any alcohol which I don't have to worry that it will causes any irritation. Overall, it does it jobs and doesn't cause problem. A simple and decent face wash with a decent price.

Cleans
I brought this for my teenage son he says it cleans my skin well and doesn’t sting at all or enough to be noticeable. It doesn’t have a distinct smell to it which is good the pump is easy to use in the shower face feels normal after using not tight at all he then follows with the accompanying moisturiser. In conclusion this product has helped him with his first signs of acne

Great cleansing gel
While I gave 3 stars for the oil-balancing toner. I think this cleanser deserves 5 stars because it does what it says. It is so gentle on your skin and full of natural ingredients, surprisingly it is powerful enough to clear all the oil in one go. I only need to use half-pump and I can clean my face thoroughly (and I don't need to repeat it again, like other cleansers such as neutrogena orange oil-free acne wash or Johnson clean n clear). I can't decide between this one and Sukin cleanser green bottle. I think both of them doing great jobs. But I like the fact that this one has charcoal inside!

Great for detoxing oil imbalance
I love all Sukin products and this one is no different. This is one company that is doing great things for the skincare world all at an affordable price point and I love their ethos of excluding all chemical nasties.
I am mostly a dry to dehydrated skin type particularly in the winter however I thought I'd try this as I had a sample sachet of this when I had purchased other Sukin products and my skin was starting to break out near my temples (mainly hormonal acne).
Although I only had a sachet, I love how the full size product comes in a bottle with a pump for easy no mess dispensation. I wish more companies released skincare with pumps! The colour is a mixture of translucent and dark grey from the charcoal and is of a gel-like consistency and not too runny like some gels which is great.
I recommend wetting your face before applying the gel so that it lathers up well. After washing it off, my face felt soft and not dry and stripped of its natural oils which was a really pleasant feeling
After about two uses, I found my pimples had subsided and did so much more quickly than usual and were less inflamed. I am now considering purchasing the full-size to use on those days when my skin is misbehaving.

Clean, fresh skin
This cleanser has a nice fruity/charcoal smell and comes out in a black gel form - very fun to use! It lathers up well and is easy to rinse off, leaving my skin clean and fresh without any associated tightness (I have dry, sensitive skin). Didn't break me out or cause irritation. Sukin is always on top of their game with good ingredients (not to mention they're cruelty-free and Australian). This would be a perfect unisex cleanser for people with oily-combination skin. Definitely does what it claims: purifies and balances.

smooth and hydrating
I received a couple of samples of this product. The gel is not so thick so goes on easy on a wet face. It isn't as black as some other charcoal based cleansers I've used, it is more see through with a hint of black. It also feels quite soothing on my face too. It washes off easily (I've only used it in the shower). I used this over a few days and i must say that it doesn't dehydrate or strip my skin, instead it feels smooth and still hydrated after use.

Great everyday cleanser
I picked this up in Beautorium and glad I did as I normally don't use Sukin products. This is a great everyday charcoal cleanser perfect for my oily-combination skin. It deeply cleanses and leaves my skin squeaky clean but without over drying it. It has a quite neutral scent and like all charcoal cleansers comes out black but lathers up clear.<br />I love the fact that it comes in a pump pack which makes it super easy to use. I love keeping mine in the shower and am considering buying another one for my bathroom basin too. Just an all round, great cleanser full of natural ingredients that does the job. It totally cleared up any tiny pimples too.

Another great product from Sukin!
I've always struggled with oily skin and i was pleasantly surprised with this product!<br />The texture of it was runnier than expected, but it still lathers well and leaves the skin feeling really clean.
As is common with Sukin, the scent is light and pleasant and I love knowing that I'm giving my skin only natural ingredients.
I've also noticed that my face hasnt been as shiny during the day, and I think its down to this product!
I would definitely repurchase.

Fantastic cleanser
songlad I took a chance in this product after reading many reviews here!<br />Love this cleanser, has worked wonders on my combined normal / oily skin. Has been over powering in the drying out component so my face still feels soft but has helped reduce the afternoon oily shine I would usually get. I use this cleanser once a day in the shower at the end of the day before bed to thoroughly clean my face. Has ansybtle charcoal scent which doesn't seem to bother me. Lathers up well and washes off good. My skin has benefitted from this with what appears to look like smaller pores and a more tighter appearance. I would definitely repurchase next time only down side is my pump bottle pump part broke just after the second or third use so I have to unscrew lid each time and can be hard to get a decent amount of prodocut out without getting too little or too much

Another Win From Sukin
Sukin is constantly knocking it out of the park when it comes to skin care, and this charcoal-based gel cleanser is no exception. Like others, I received this product as part of the priceline goody bag, and I'm so thrilled that I did, because it's quickly become a constant part of my skin care routine. The gel is slightly black in colour and a really lovely consistency that foams that slightly on application. I find after using this consistently that my skin is less oily and it really seems to stay matte for much longer during the day.

Great for oily skin
Purchased in January and I still use it every night in the shower. I like the charcoaly smell and how it feels almost like a cleansing milk on my face yet mattifies your face. I love that Sukin is Australian and doesn't test on animals so picking this up at Priceline was a purchase that I did not regret. This also works well with the oil-balancing moisturiser!!
The only thing is that sometimes, I get oily within a few hours after that, but that's probably because I'm a super oily person :/

Enjoying softer skin
Another Sukin cleanser I've been blessed to enjoy. As this is a charcoal cleanser, the mixture has traces of black, yet comes out as a combination of clear and black. You do not need to worry about the charcoal causing a mess on your bathroom sink. Simply rub with your hands and apply all over the face. A lovely product that does not dehydrate or dry out the skin. Skin feels refreshed the next morning, and also helps alleviate any nasty spots. Also sulphate and paraben free, and would definitely work well for oily skin. All skin types will benefit.

Great value charcoal cleanser!
I received this cleanser in a gift with purchase goodie bag from Priceline and would both recommend it and purchase it again. Coming in a convenient, easy to dispense 125mL sized pump pack, this cleanser is compact and portable
The charcoal cleanser is a thick black gel with a faint scent soapy smell. Make sure to moisten your face with water fist so that the charcoal gel cleanser lathers nicely on the face
This cleanser provides a deep and thorough clean, leaving skin soft, clear and radiant. I use this cleanser to remove any left over residue after performing an oil cleanse without drying out my normal to dry skin; I follow up with a serum and moisturiser.

gentle cleanser
I received this cleanser in the priceline skincare bag but I think I would repurchase it in the future.<br />This cleanser comes in a dark coloured pump bottle.<br />The product comes out a little grey and you can actually smell the charcoal in it. It forms a nice lather once you add a bit of water.<br />I found it to be quite gentle on my combination skin, I also have quite sensitive skin and had no issues with this cleanser.

Interesting Translucent Colour!
This is a translucent grey-black coloured gel cleanser which comes in a convenient pump-top plastic bottle. The dark coloured plastic of the container looks swish and like a cleanser that male or female could use as the label is a grey colour. It's all colour coded with this product!
I like that it contains charcoal - it is a product my own grandfather taught me as a child to use to clean my teeth with if I was stuck out in the bush!! He's long gone now but the memory of him teaching me this 'survival' cleansing trick as stayed with me. So I fully respect and believe in the effectiveness of this 'new' charcoal movement in the beauty world

I'm enjoying using this cleanser and would now like to try the other products in it's range within the Sukin brand. I find it gentle to use but it's effective and works well on my cleansing brush. It has a refreshing scent. Though it's gentle, I find it cleanses deeply and I need that as I have oily combination skin. I need the gentleness because I have ageing skin.
I like the way this rinses off easily too. I could recommend this to all different skin types because it's not harsh.

Great cleanser for oily skin
Sukin is pretty much my favourite brand because it's Australian and uses natural ingredients and because of this I have tried many of their products. I received this cleanser in a Priceline Skincare Goody Bag and thought I probably wouldn't use it as I have dry skin. Then summer came along and my skin started to get oily so I thought this cleanser might help to balance out the sheen.<br />It comes in a pump bottle which is easy to use and one pump is enough for one use so it will last for a long time. The pump design does mean it is not suitable for travelling though without dispensing it into a separate container. The directions for use tell you to apply to wet hands and rub into a lather before applying to the face but I find it's just as good to apply to a wet face. The cleanser is quite black in colour because of the main active ingredient being Bamboo Charcoal but this doesn't leave any colour on your skin unless you happen to miss a spot when you wash it off. I'm not a huge fan of the smell but I don't have too many cleansers that I do like the smell of really. After I wash it off I find it doesn't leave my skin feeling too dry despite the fact my skin is dry naturally. Overall it is a great product in the Sukin range and the fact that it is natural and available at such a budget price means that anyone can afford to use it.

Better than the original Sukin
I use this cleanser in the shower. It has an easy to use dispenser and it is totally non irritant. This is so important to me because often cleansers irritate my eyes.<br />My skin feels clean but soft after the application. I was worried it might be a bit drying considering it is the oil balancing product in Sukin's line but I shouldn't have worried, I think it is actually moisturising rather than drying.

HG for blackheads!
I've had a problem with blackheads since my high school days. What prompted me to actually try out this cleanser was the Korean double cleansing technique (oil cleanser followed by foaming cleanser each night). I have tried countless cleansers and methods to rid myself from blackheads since forever, so I didn't have much confidence when I bought this
Lo and behold; after a week of adding this cleanser to my routine, I found that the stubborn blackheads on my nose, forehead and t-zone had reduced. TMI, but I didn't have to spend as much time physically extracting them on my Sunday nights. After a month, there's actually no need to sit in front of a mirror popping them out - there is absolutely nothing resembling a blackhead.
However, having Asian skin means that it has left me with rather unsightly large pores after the gunk has been cleaned out. So I will need to do some more homework on pore minimisers. But overall, the product has done its intended job and I still use it every night. I quite like the scent, and aside from the blackheads disappearing, I've noticed that my t-zone hasn't broken out in random zits after the hot days too :)
Being Australian-owned, organic & natural, and cruelty-free was also a massive bonus in my books!

Cleared my skin up
This stuff is great as either a face mask or daily cleaner. Helped to clear up most of my pimple problems to the point I felt more confident. Love this stuff to the point I am now a regular buyer :) I use it every evening. I wet my face then rub one pump of it onto my skin, leave it on while the hot water comes through the tap, wet a flannel and wipe it all off. Its so refreshing and my face feels great.

Great Australian cleanser.
I love that this product is Australian owned and made, with no animal testing.<br />With this cleanser a little goes a long way . I have a 125ml bottle and I think it will last a long while.<br /> It cleans nicely and leaves your skin feeling refreshed and less oily.<br /> The scent is different but I really like it.<br />I would gladly recommend this product to my friends and family.

Charcoal blessings
I love charcoal based products and I definitely like this one.<br />It does say its a gel, but mine seems to come out more liquidy than I'd like but it still lathers and cleans my face perfectly. It isn't too harsh on my skin but if I leave it on for too long sometimes my face goes red for a bit
I just put a little bit onto my hands and lather it together, massage it into my face, leave it on for a minute and then gently wash it off with a flannel.

Sukin, my new favourite brand
I only discovered Sukin a few months ago and it is becoming my new favourite brand
I purchased a few of there products because not only did the products look good but the price was very affordable to me
I love the cleanser! It comes in a attractive pump bottle, that sits nicely on my bathroom counter
It is a gel based cleanser, that is black in colour, as it's enriched with bamboo charcoal. It contains other ingredients like Chamomile, Aloe Vera, Cucumber, Coconut etc...all products that I'm a big fan of
I use it either in the morning or/and at night. I just apply a small amount to my damp hands, lather it up and massage it into my face, then rinse completely off and pat dry with a towel
My skin feel really clean, less, oily, fewer breakouts and just overall better.

Skin balancing cleanser
The Sukin gel cleanser is a charcoal based face wash that is great for those who have oily/combination skin and for those who suffer from blemishes. As I'm sure most people have heard about all the great benefits of charcoal, the special ingredient helps draw out impurities and balance out the skin.
For the price it's amazing and I use it every chance I get. On the days when I'm wearing makeup, it takes everything off while also removing all the dirt and oil that has accumulated on my face. My oily skin can get quite sensitive at times and the cleanser helps with that as well. It doesn't aggravate it, nor does it leave it feeling dry or tight.
The cleanser itself is a dark colour which is so interesting to see. The smell and colour come from the charcoal and even though it's not the most pleasant smell it's still bearable. It has a nice lather and your skin has that good clean feeling right after using. All the products from this range are wonderful and work really well together

Leaves my face matte and smooth
This product was half off at Chemist Warehouse so i thought it'd control a lot of oily areas on my face.<br />I've been using it so far for 3 weeks and have seen a huge halt in the amount of oil produced on my face, namely my forehead and chin area.<br />For even RRP i think it's a must have for combo-Oily skin people who want something inexpensive, very natural and a good base cleanser.
