If I could make my own toothpaste I wouldAs I am allergic to mint due to an oral medical condition, I have to use a toothpaste which has no mint flavouring or SLS. Unfortunately my choices are extremely limited when it comes to unflavoured toothpastes. I tried Alfree many years ago and wasn't at all happy with the formula and found it went hard in the tube and a watery liquid would come out of the tube. It also fell off my toothbrush very easily. Then it was reformulated and I can honestly say it isn't much better and does have a rather odd taste. I can live with the fact that it doesn't give you that "minty fresh feeling" after brushing which is purely a feel good thing, however I do expect the quality to be so much better when you are paying $6.49 for a 100g tube at Chemist Warehouse. One of the major chemist brands in Australia used to make their own brand however it was discontinued. Another Australian owned toothpaste company also discontinued their flavour free toothpaste, so I am left with Alfree. I'm not happy about it but I have no other choice for the time being and I need to brush my teeth twice daily. I do appreciate what the founder of the brand is trying to do by creating this toothpaste for those with allergies, but I am definitely not a fan and have used much better brands in the past.
