Good introduction to retinol
After seeking out a Retinol moisturizer for night wear I settled on the Olay Regenerist Retinol24 Cream as it had a good price point and I have been a fan of Olay moisturizers in the past. I've been using this for many months now and have been happy enough with it. The size means you get a lot of product for your money and while I have not noticed any dramatic differences in my skin, it has certainly maintained my skin throughout both the winter and summer months. Overall my skin looks more even coloured with dark and dry patches largely disappearing and I haven't had many pimples. I do think perhaps my pores have become more prominent which might be a sign that my skin in general is a bit more plump. One thing I don't particularly like about the texture of the cream - it is a bit tacky and sticky in feeling which can be a bit off-putting before going to bed.

Gentle Retinol Night Moisturiser
The Olay Regenerist Night Moisturiser comes in a plastic 50g tub with twist off lid. The white cream is fragrance free which is a plus for those that prefer it. I'm not bothered either way. I've been using only at night and have not had any adverse reactions. I'm not sure how scientifically true it is but I feel that Retinol in a moisturiser tends to be gentler than a serum. Having it in a cream also means that I can use a different active in my serum (as long as it doesn't interact or counteract with the retinol) without overdosing on the Retinol. It absorbs quickly. My skin is looking nice and smooth. Yes I'd recommend and would repurchase this product.

Excellent retinol Night Cream
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used the Olay Regenerist Retinol Night Cream in conjunction with the Retinol Serum in the same range. At first I was a little wary about using retinol on my face, as my skin can be sensitive at times.
However, even though I used it regularly as recommended during Summer, I did not get any reaction to it. I did wear SPF sunscreen during the day, but even with frequent periods of time outdoors, there was still no reaction !
The cream is lightweight to apply and did not feel heavy on my skin. I woke up with my face feeling velvety smooth but was not greasy or causing breakouts. After using the Night Cream for several months now, my skin texture is definitely smoother and the tone is more even.
It's an excellent night cream for anyone wanting to try a retinol product. I will probably buy this again next time.

Not for everyone
I have used Olay creams for 25 years, never a problem until I switched to this new retinol moisturizer. I applied every night for about a week with no issues until I applied sunscreen in the morning. My whole face was burning so I washed off the sunscreen thinking that was the colprit. Skin settled after 15 mins so thinking it was the sunscreen I continued using my Olay retinol nightly for about a week. Getting ready for a night out I applied a heavy long lasting foundation and again instantly the burning skin returns. I have been using this foundation for 10+ years so knew it wasn’t that and also I hadn’t used that sunscreen. The only thing I had changed in my skin routine was the new Olay retinol moisturizer so I have stopped using it. I do have slight red patches under my eyes/cheekbones and my skin appears pink and shiny and very sensitive to temperature. I have never had sensitive skin. I love Olay but would warn others to patch test this product for a few weeks before applying to your whole face to avoid burning

Great moisturiser but too expensive
Packaging this 50g jar in a box more than double its size is misleading (even with the 'Actual Size' on side of package). Environmentally very wasteful, and shows how out of touch you are with such issues. The actual jar is beautiful, more like a work of art, but again wasteful. I would rather you saved money on both jar and box, and offered either/both a larger jar or lower cost. In the long run you would make more money.

Clears acne
I have cystic acne, and sensitive skin. My face can become disfigured from cysts and get incredibly painful.
I started using this product over a year ago. Within the first use, my face was less oily by morning, and I felt dryer through out the day. With in a week, my acne was beginning to clear up, and new cysts seemed to be less intence. My scarring is reduced and skin tone is so much more even and fresh. My fine lines are visibly less noticeable, and my skin has a natural glow about it I'm 37 and often told I have skin of a 20 something yo. Although this isn't an acne treatment, it has helped a great deal in the condition of my skin, and I often get compliments. I still have breakouts but not like I used too.

Not great for me but beautiful to apply
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got the Olay Regenerist Retinol 24 Night Moisturiser Cream (and the Regenerist Retinol 24 Night Eye Cream) as part of the BH trial. I was so excited to be chosen, as had read amazing reviews about the Retinol Night Moisturiser.
I used it every second night as suggested to avoid irritation. The pot is classy, and the cream felt beautiful. Applying it was just lovely; it was so velvety and easy to spread over my face - it sunk in quite quickly, and left no sticky feeling when I went to bed.
After the second application, I noticed dry patches starting on my face, so I persevered every second night, hoping to get used to the cream. After each subsequent application, I got more dry patches, and then my skin started stinging. I wear SPF 50 during the day anyway, and that is advised, as retinol can make skin sensitive to the sun.
I don’t usually have any skin sensitivities - I can use any product - but the dry patches and the stinging I experienced while using it for over 3 weeks, and the fact I saw no improvement in my lines or skin texture, means I wouldn’t use it again. I stopped once the trial period was finished.
I did really enjoy applying it though, and am really pleased I was chosen to trial it, and I know for many people it works extremely well.
