Rated 4 out of 5 by from Gentle Mousse Cleanser [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the Skin B5 Acne Control Cleansing Mousse recently from BeautyHeaven in their Spring Discovery Bag. It comes in a pump action bottle that converts the liquid, dispensing it out as a mousse.   The packaging states it is suitable for all skin types and will deeply cleanse and refresh your skin but it felt more like a gentle lighter cleanse to me. The packaging also claims it can be used to remove light makeup. I needed to use a few pumps to achieve this and would probably use a different product to remove my makeup and reserve this cleanser for morning cleanses. The product also claims that it can be used as a gentle shaving foam and I did find it effective for this purpose. Overall I found this to be a gentle and soothing cleanser that was non-drying on my skin. I love that this is an Australian made product. I will continue using it as a morning cleanser and gentle shaving foam.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lovely on my combination skin. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have really enjoyed using this cleanser on my skin especially at night when I double cleanse. Having combination skin I know all too well when a cleanser is too rich or stripping this one is neither. Don’t let the name fool you I assumed Acne Control meant my skin was going to feel squeaky clean/possibly tight after use but it is quite the opposite. After wetting my skin I apply one pump of the foaming cleanser to my fingertips and gently massage it into my skin, once I am finished I gentle rinse and repeat. The cleanser has no obvious scent to me and feels comfortable on my skin and is easy to use. After using now for a couple of weeks my skin is left feeling clean, clear and comfortable, not stripped, tight or dry. Recommended for all skin types I believe this is definitely gentle enough and that all skin types would benefit from this gentle cleanser.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Skin B5 cleanser [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was one of the lucky few selected to review the Spring Discovery bag. I've not heard of this brand before but I am always up for trying new cleansers not to mention foaming ones! The packaging states that it contains green tea, vitamin B5 and aloe vera. All the goodness needed for my skin! The packaging is simple, with a clear lid and thick dispensing nozzle. A few pumps of this into the palm of my hand and I rub into my skin. This foaming cleanser didn't seem to do much to my face. It felt more like a soap if anything and dried out my face if I hadn't put toner and moisturiser immediately afterwards.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Passable cleanser [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have an oily t-zone with big congested pores on my nose so I was eager to see if this would help with those things. This cleanser is very gentle and light. I wasn't able to use this with my cleansing device as the mousse doesn't spread well with my device so I've been using my hands to cleanse. The mousse lathers ever so slightly and I need to use 2 full pumps. It says to use 1 pump but 1 just isn't enough. Once I rinse the cleanser off, my face still feels dirty and oily so I double cleanse which I normally do at night anyway but I just don't feel like I'm getting a thorough cleanse from this product. I've also noticed my skin has felt oilier than usual too which isn't great. I let the cleanser sit on my skin for around a minute before rinsing so that it has time to penetrate. It has a very light scent which doesn't cause any irritation and it doesn't strip my skin or make it feel tight or dry. I'll use this cleanser up but I won't be using it again as I don't feel that it gives a good enough cleanse. It's too light and gentle.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Botanical smell [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I do not mind the smell of this foaming cleanser, it is a botanical smell. I like that it foams up when I squirt out a pump, the colour in the bottles is a dark yellow, light brown. When you dispense the cleanser it comes out white and foamy. The foam allows for less wastage and the 150 millilitres bottle should last me more than three months. I have only been using it for three weeks. My skin does not have acne at the moment, it just gets sweaty in the Spring Weather and when exercising. Skin B5 have done a good job among an Australian made foaming cleanser that cleans my skin.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from SkinB5 Acne Control Cleansing Mousse [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Although I received the SkinB5 Acne Control Cleansing Mousse as part of the Spring Discovery Bag Trial Team, I have tried it before along with the whole SkinB5 range, on both my teenage son and myself. I have to say out of the entire SkinB5 range, this is my least favourite product. I have used it extensively on my 15 year old son who has quite bad acne and it didn't make any difference in clearing up his skin. The packaging is good and easy to use. The liquid product changes to a foam once dispensed. Foam cleansers are not my favourite because the product reduces to very light suds and it feel like you're cleansing with nothing. Also, you have to be careful not to get the suds in your eyes, as this formula is harder to control than a gel or cream cleanser. As one pump dispenses enough product to clean my whole face, it is good value for money and does last a fair while. The formula contains some nice calming ingredients and is gentle to use. But from my experience it doesn't really help control acne.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Gentle cleanser [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received a bottle of SkinB5 Acne Control Cleansing Mousse in the Spring Discovery Bag. I don’t have acne and mousse cleansers aren’t particularly my favourite type of cleanser but nevertheless I was willing to give this product a good trial. The instructions are to apply one pump of cleanser to wet hands and then gently massage into skin before rinsing off. This cleansing mousse seems quite light and airy compared to other cleansing mousses I have previously used but I was able to massage it over my face quite easily. My skin felt clean although I don’t know about how deeply cleaned. My skin didn’t feel at all tight, dry or irritated during the ten straight days I used the cleanser. I only used the cleanser once a day in the evening. It wasn’t until I did a comparison between this cleansing mousse and my current cleansing balm that I noticed how dull my skin looked after using the cleansing mousse. So, it was time to pass it on to someone with skin maybe more suited to this product. My son and daughter-in-law are in their 20s and have oilier skin than I do. They reported that the mousse gave a good clean, the product was easy to use, the cleanser was gentle on their skin and neither of them experienced any sensitivity. Neither of them were experiencing breakouts during the time they trialled the cleansing mousse.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hydrating foaming cleaner for all skin types [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is marketed as an acne control cleanser but it's actually fine to use even if you don't have acne. It doesn't have acne-specific ingredients, but it does have some salicylic acid (<0.5%) , which is a beta hydroxy acid that is oil soluble. This means that it is good for cleaning access oil and helping with clogged pores The formula also contains glycerin (my favourate humectant), vitamin B5, green tea and aloe vera to sooth and protect. The product is self-foaming and comes with a pump. The liquid is yellow in colour. One pump is sufficient to cover my face. There is a subtle fragrance from the bergamot oil that is pleasant. I can massage it all over my face without stinging my eyes. It cleans well and leaves skin soft. It's not stripping at all, you will not get the squeaky clean after feel. What you get is the opposite, a slightly hydrating feel. I sometimes wake up with oily pores and I find that this cleanser works well to clean. It also works for light make-up and daily sunscreen, but for heavier make-up I would recommend using make-up remover or a cleansing oil/balm first. The salicylic acid content doesn't interfere with my usual routine that includes exfoliation and retinol, I haven't had any dryness or peeling since adding this cleanser to my routine. I can't comment on whether it works for acne sufferers but overall it's a great Australian-made cleanser. It's a shame that it's only available in selected pharmacies and not the mainstream stores like Chemist Warehouse and Priceline. I'll be sure to look out for it in future.
